The VC Fund

The VC Fund is an introduction to Venture Capital Investing. Participants will gain an understanding of the role of VC Funds in the private capital markets, as well as, learn how a VC Fund operates and how it is structured and capitalized. We will start by defining the key aspects of the VC asset class and describe the impact that VC investors have on the tech sector. Following the life cycle of a VC Fund, we will examine each stage, from fund raising to investing and harvesting, and look into how the capital from a successful exit is distributed among the VC Fund’s key stakeholders. If VC capital is the “jet fuel” that propels innovative startups, then VC Funds are the skilled pilots that navigate the tech ecosystem, identify and guide startups and provide resources and support to scale. Understanding how a VC Fund operates is a critical component in VC Investing.
